A parody of Lewis Carroll's Alice stories set in the early motoring world, published as No. 1 of The Car Magazine Series by the proprietors of The Car-Illustrated at 17 Shaftesbury Avenue, London, in 1904. The drawings are by Charles R. Sykes, who would later achieve lasting fame as the sculptor of the Spirit of Ecstasy mascot for Rolls-Royce Limited, commissioned in 1911. The combination of early date, extreme rarity, and the subsequent eminence of the illustrator makes this a potentially significant item; Mr Fletcher's particular attention is invited.
