Published as part of the Century of Progress Series to accompany the 1933 Chicago World's Fair exposition, this volume by Charles F. Kettering — inventor of the electric starter motor and head of GM Research Laboratories — and Allen Orth surveys a century of progress in transportation. The copy is of particular note as it bears a pencil autograph inscription by Kettering himself on the front free endpaper, reading "faithfully / Chas F Kettering." The dust jacket, though worn, is present — an uncommon survival on a copy of this age and context.
